NEWS RELEASE Joshua M. Ganze, age 19, 210 Maple Lane, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 1600 block of South Galena Avenue on August 6, 2008 at 6:05 p.m. for Burglary and Retail Theft Over $150.00. Farster., age 20, 817 South Ottawa Avenue, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 500 block of an alley that is located to the west of Depot Avenue on August 5, 2008 at 9:30 p.m. for a Dixon Police Department arrest warrant for Unlawful Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Other charges included Unlawful Production of Cannabis Sativa Plant, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Possession of Liquor. Farster was also charged with Aggravated Battery, Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer (two counts), Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver (2.5 to 10 grams), and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (2.5 to 10 grams). Stuckey Jr., age 17, 722 Assembly Place, Apartment 2, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested at the Dixon Police Department on August 5, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. for Theft. NEWS RELEASE The Dixon Police Department would like to alert the public to a theft that occurred in Dixon in which detonator caps and primer cord were taken. The detonator caps are to be considered extremely dangerous and should not be handled if located or observed. The detonator caps are orange and yellow and the primer cord is yellow. Grygiel, age 49, 617 Palmyra Road, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the unit block of Walton Drive on August 4th, 2008 at 12:08 p.m. for Driving Under the Influence, Driving While License Revoked and Improper Lane Usage. Aguilar, age 37, 1705 Avenue F, Apartment 317, Sterling, Illinois, was arrested on a Dixon Police Department warrant for Failure to Appear. Smith was taken into custody from Sterling Police Officers on August 2, 2008 at 11:45 p.m. Aguilar was unable to post the bond and was taken to the Lee County Jail. Wade, age 31, 631 Marclare Street, Apartment 25 and Dennis M. Muhammad, age 19, of 631 Marclare Street, Apartment 3 Dixon, Illlinois, have been arrested following an attack on a female in the Dixon River Apartment Complex on July 27, 2008 at 2:05 a.m. Dixon Officers responded to the apartment complex and met with a female victim who alleged she had been attacked and kicked in the head by two subjects. The victim suffered a fractured orbital. While completing the investigation, officers learned that one of the witnesses in the case had be approached by Wade and threatened with violence if the witness spoke to the police. Witnesses also stated that Wade is a gang member and has gang affiliations from Chicago. After completing the investigation, Dixon Officers obtained an arrest warrant against Wade for Aggravated Battery (Class 3 Felony) and Harassment of a Witness (Class 2 Felony). Wade is currently on parole for aggravated possession of stolen firearms, possession of a firearm by a felon, aggravated battery, and armed robbery. Bond was set at $500,000.00. The Illinois Department of Corrections was contacted and assisted in the apprehension of Wade. The Department of Corrections issued an additional “No Bond” arrest warrant against Wade for violating his parole. Dixon Officers also obtained an arrest warrant against Muhammad for Aggravated Battery. His bond was set at $50,000.00. Both Wade and Muhammad were taken into custody on July 27, 2008 at approximately 10:35 p.m. without incident at Mobil Gas Station in Dixon after officers followed them to that location. After processing, they were turned over to the Lee County Jail. The investigation into the harassment of a witness is still ongoing and further arrests may occur. The Dixon Police Department is committed to protecting both victims and witnesses of crimes and will react immediately to reports of this type. Richter, age 43, 410 Madison Avenue, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested on a Rockford Police Department warrant for Failure to Appear Possession of a Controlled Substance. Richter was taken into custody in the 400 block of Madison Avenue on July 28, 2008 at 2:15 a.m. Richter was unable to post the bond and was taken to the Lee County Jail. NEWS RELEASE A 16-year-old male juvenile was arrested following a foot pursuit in the 700 block of Spruce Street. On July 28,2008 at approximately 1:34 a.m., Dixon Police Officers were checking the southeast side of Dixon after received a report of a car burglary in the 300 block of South Jefferson Avenue. Dixon Officers were attempting to locate and identify the suspect for that investigation when they observed a subject on Spruce Street at Fargo Avenue. When Dixon Officers approached the male juvenile, he took off running west on Spruce Street. The pursuit ended in the 1000 block of Fargo Avenue with the male juvenile being taken into custody. Lee County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted in the pursuit. Further investigation did not yield enough information to charge the juvenile for the reported burglary, but he was charged with Resisting a Peace Officer and Curfew. The juvenile was transported to the police department. After officers spoke with the Lee County Juvenile Probation Department, it was determined the juvenile would be detained at Mary Davis Juvenile Detention Center. The juvenile will appear in court on Monday, July 28, 2008. Fox, age 48, 718 West Second Street, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested at K.S.B. Hospital on July 16, 2008 at 7:30 pm for Disorderly Conduct and Reckless Conduct. A call was made to the Dixon Police Department at 6:34 pm on July 16, 2008 in reference to a subject having difficulty swimming in the Rock River, near Page Park. Dixon City and Dixon Rural Fire Departments rescued Fox from the Rock River. After Fox was rescued from the Rock River he was transported to K.S.B. Hospital where he was treated and released. NEWS RELEASE The Dixon Police Department is requesting the assistance of the public in an investigation into vandalism that has resulted in damages to at least two local businesses over the past several days. Graff of 204 ½ East Seventh Street, Dixon, Illinois in relation to an extensive drug investigation that occurred in Dixon and Lee County over the last few months.
