Cole W. Elder, age 31, no permanent address, was arrested on a Dixon Police Department warrant for Failure to Appear. Elder was taken into custody in Sterling on March 17, 2008 at 1:45 p.m. Elder was unable to post bond and was taken to the Lee County Jail.

The charges are merely an allegation and all parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty.


NEWS RELEASE

Rocky L. Fulker, age 32, 1685 Overlook Drive, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 200 block South Hennepin Avenue on March 17, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. for Battery. Fulker was processed, posted $100.00 bond and was released pending an April 16, 2008 court date.

The charges are merely an allegation and all parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty.


NEWS RELEASE

The Dixon Police Department would like to announce the arrest of Michael P. Dusing, age 32, no permanent address, on March 15, 2008at 8:19 a.m. for Theft (Over $300.00), Obstructing Justice, and Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer. Dusing was also wanted on arrests warrants out of Lee County, Whiteside County, and Carroll County.

Shortly after 8:00 a.m. officers were patrolling through the DND Travel Plaza parking lot and observed subjects unloading lead bundles from a semi-trailer and placing them onto a flat bed pick-up truck. Officers stopped to investigate the suspicious activity. During the course of the investigation the driver of the semi-truck, identified as Michael Dusing fled from the scene on foot and was apprehended within minutes near the Super 8 Motel. Dusing was processed at the police department and escorted to the Lee County Jail.   

Theft (Over $300.00) is a Class 3 Felony which holds a minimum sentence of two years and a maximum sentence of five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC). Obstructing Justice is a Class 4 Felony which holds a minimum sentence of 1 year and a maximum sentence of three years in IDOC. Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer is Class A Misdemeanor which is punishable by up to one year in jail and fines.

The LeeCounty warrant was for Failure to Appear-Failure to Support. The WhitesideCounty warrant was for Failure to Appear-Bad Checks and the Carroll Countywarrant was for Contempt of Court.  

    All charges are merely an allegation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Clayton E. Galor, age 18, 104 1/2 West Mason, Polo, Illinois, was arrested in the 100 block of West Eighth Street on March 15, 2008 at 3:10 p.m. for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Galor was processed and released after posting $100.00 cash bond pending an April 16, 2008 court appearance.

Whitmore, age 24, 26688 Avers Road, Sterling, Illinois, was arrested on a Dixon Police Department warrant for ForgeryWhitmore was taken into custody at the Dixon Police Department on March 14, 2008 at 8:40 a.m. Whitmore was processed on the warrant and was released after posting $300.00 bond.

Gonzalo Trevino Jr., age 21, 523 North Ottawa Avenue, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the Beanblossom parking lot on March, 14, 2008 at 12:32 a.m. for a Lee County Contempt of Court Warrant.  Trevino posted bond and was released with a pending court date.

NEWS RELEASE

Kari B. Stauffer, age 27, 838 Sproul Street, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested on a Whiteside County Warrant for Failure to Appear-Driving Under the Influence. Stauffer was taken into custody in the 300 block of West First Street on March 13, 2008 at 12:38 a.m. Stauffer was unable to post bond and was taken to the Lee County Jail.

Jack D, Mowery, age 53, 300 South Fifth Avenue, Room 22, Clinton, Iowa, was arrested in the 1800 block of Clark Street on March 12, 2008 at 2:45 p.m. for valid Failure To Appear warrants from Lee County and Ogle County. Mowery was processed and taken to the Lee County Jail.

NEWS RELEASE

Sean A. Hopkins, age 34, 315 East Chamberlin Street, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 100 block of West Chamberlin Street on March 12, 2008 at 2:10 a.m. for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Illegal Parking in the Roadway. Hopkins was processed and released after posting bond pending a court appearance on April 16, 2008.

Jim C. Palmer, age 31, 824 West Fourth Street, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested on a Whiteside County Warrant for Failure to AppearPalmer was taken into custody in the 800 block of West Fourth Street on March 10, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. Palmer was unable to post the bond and was taken to the Lee County Jail.

NEWS RELEASE

On Saturday, March 15, 2008 and Sunday, March 16, 2008 the Dixon Police Department will be hosting an Illinois Hunter Education Course. You must attend both days to be certified. This course in mandated by Illinois law for any hunter born after January 1, 1980. Many states are now requiring adult hunters to furnish evidence of having completed a Hunter Education Course prior to issuance of a non-resident license.

The Illinois Hunter Education Program covers the basics of hunter responsibility, wildlife conservation and identification, firearms and ammunition, field safety, wildlife management, first aid, archery, muzzleloading, and state regulations. The Illinois Hunter Education Program was designed to improve safety and to develop an attitude of respect for wildlife and the environment.

The course will be held, at the police department, on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 for the entire course.

Amy J. Mitchell, age 30, 202 15th Ave., Sterling, Illinois, was arrested on a Dixon Police Department warrant for Failure to AppearMitchell was taken into custody in Rock Falls on March 9 at 12:05 p.m. Mitchell was unable to post the bond and was taken to the Lee County Jail.

Lysa A. Williams, age 22, 624 Marclare Street Apartment 24, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested at 624 Marclare Street on February 9, 2008 at 3:45 a.m. for Domestic Battery. Williams was processed and taken to the Lee County Jail pending a court appearance.

Cover, age 27, 3676 West Cedar Street, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the Unit Block of South Hennepin Avenue on March 9, 2008 at 12:20 a.m. for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer, Improper Lane Usage, Driving Without Lights When Required, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol. Cover was processed, posted $300.00 bond, and was released pending a court appearance on April 2, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.

Jeffrey J. Cledon, age 38, 1111 Fargo Avenue, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the Unit block of South Hennepin Avenue on March, 9, 2008 at 1:58 a.m. for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Cledon was processed and released on bond with a pending court date of April, 2, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.

David A. Craft, age 28, 307 Grant Avenue Dixon, Illinois, was arrested at 1513 West Ninth Street on March 8, 2008 at 11:00 p.m. for Domestic Battery and Domestic Battery (Subsequent Offense).  Craft was processed and taken to the Lee County Jail for a pending court appearance.

Two female juveniles, ages 14 and 15, Dixon, Illinois, were arrested in the 900 block of Mary Avenue on March 8, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. for Runaway. The juveniles was processed and released to their parents.

NEWS RELEASE

Kelly E. Deets, age 39, 209 South Main Street, Coleta, Illinois was arrested on March 4, 2008 on a Dixon Police Department arrest warrant for Making A False Terrorist Threat.  Bond was set at $100,000.00, 10%.   

An investigation into several threats made by Deets began within the past week after Dixon officers were advised of the details of the threats.  Deets allegedly threatened to kill 6 people in the Dixon area. On March 4, 2008, investigators met with Lee County State’s Attorney Paul Whitcombe and reviewed the facts of the case. After reviewing the facts, State’s Attorney Whitcombe determined there was enough evidence to file charges against Deets for Falsely Making A Terrorist Threat. 

After obtaining the warrant, officers contacted the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department and requested their assistance in apprehending Deets. Shortly after speaking with the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department, the Deputies took Deets into custody at his residence in Coleta. Dixon Officers met with a deputy from Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department and took custody of Deets. Deets was transported to the Dixon Police Department. At the police department, officers processed Deets. Deets was unable to post bond and was taken to the Lee County Jail.

Callers do not have to leave their names and are eligible for cash  rewards of up to $1000.00 with information leading to an arrest.

Ashley A. Thomas, age 17, 222 North Mason Avenue, Amboy, Illinois, was arrested in the 1300 block North Galena Avenue on March 3, 2008 at 3:16 p.m. for Retail Theft under $150.00. Thomas was processed and released on an Individual Bond.

Dillabough, age 19, 914 1/2 Academy Street, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 900 block of Academy Street on March 3, 2008 at 2:10 a.m. for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor, Driving Without Lights When Required, Improper Lane Usage, Speeding, Leaving the Scene of a Damaged Vehicle Accident, and Failure to Give Information After Striking Unattended Vehicle or Other Property. Dillabough was processed and released after posting bond.

A male juvenile, age 16, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested on March 2, 2008 in the 500 block of Chicago Avenue for Zero Tolerance, Unlawful Possession of Alcohol, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, No Valid Driver’s License and Speeding. The male juvenile was processed and released to the custody of a parent.

NEWS RELEASE

A female juvenile, age 15, Walnut, Illinois, and a female juvenile, age 16, Tiskilwa, Illinois were both arrested on March 1, 2008 at the Dixon Police Department for Retail Theft Under $150.00. The arrest was made after police responded to ShopKo for a shoplifting call at 5:00 p.m. on February 27, 2008. The two juveniles had left ShopKo prior to the police arriving. After further investigation, police determined the identity of the two female juveniles. The parents of the juveniles were contacted and they were brought to the Dixon Police Department for processing.  The juveniles were released to their parents.

NEWS RELEASE

Nathan William Lester, age 23, 1405 Crow Creek Road, Bettendorf, Iowa, was arrested on a Tazwell County warrant for Failure to Appear / Soliciting Without A PermitLester was taken into custody at the corner of Academy Street and Assembly Place on March 1, 2008 at 12:59 p.m. Lester was able to post the $236.00 bond and was released pending an April 2, 2008 court appearance in Pekin, Illinois.

Johns, age 26, 723 South Peoria Avenue, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested at his residence on March 1, 2008 at 12:35 p.m. for Domestic Battery (Subsequent Offense). Johns was also wanted on warrants out of Lee County and Dekalb County for Failure to Appear. Johns was processed and taken to the Lee County Jail.
