The annual Scarecrow Festival is being planned for Saturday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. A full day of activities is being planned with fun for the whole family. Parts of First Street and Hennepin Avenue will be closed during the day. Starting in the morning, many of the traditional activities will begin, such as the pumpkin painting and the flower pot painting. A variety of activities will be held downtown.

Performances by local cheerleaders and dance teams
Temporary Tattoos sponsored by Curve's
Doggy Zoo Expo
Walking Tacos and Crafts by the Palmyra Hillbillies 4H Club
Chalk the Walk contest sponsored by Sherwin-Williams, Audio Video Connection and Bellini's.
Scarecrow Decorating Contest
Dixon Main Street hopes to line the streets with home-made scarecrows to help celebrate the festival. Cost is just $25 to enter the contest. Download all the details here. Prizes will be awarded.
