We are…
A Worshipping Community of Faith
- The center of our life-together is
the "Lord’s Table," around which we celebrate communion
every Sunday.
- Around the Lord’s Table we witness
to our faith in God as revealed in the story of Jesus of
Nazareth.
- We believe that faith is
ultimately relational and endeavor to foster a church
life where people feel known and accepted.
Inclusive
Engaged in Mission
- We believe God’s mission for the
church is to be
and to share the Good
News of Jesus Christ, witnessing and serving from our
doorsteps "to the ends of the earth" (Acts
1:8).
We value…
A concern for "Justice, Peace and the Integrity of
Gods Creation"
- What is good? What does the Lord
require of us? We are "to do justice, and love kindness,
and walk humbly" with our God (Micah 6:8).
- Locally we are involved with
relief efforts such as PADS and Emergency Needs through
the Dixon Council of Churches; we assist Dixon Habitat
for Humanity. Denominational, we support many social
justice concerns.
Searching over Religious Certainty
- We value the intelligent study of
the Bible.
- We believe both in "faith seeking
understanding," and in "understanding seeking
faith."
- We allow room for people to ask
the important questions of faith. Our primary concern is
not to give answers, but to strengthen and to accompany
each other on our spiritual journeys.
Spirituality
- Spirituality is the totality of
our lives; the "combination of life and
prayer."
- "Wholeness" is the integration of
one’s inner and outer life.
- We seek wholeness, and the
deepening of our spirituality through worship and
service, but also through learning about and experiencing
a variety of the spiritual disciplines.
